These pencils have a metal bar base which are 1.8mm and are used for beadable pens crafting. Or any other way you would like to use them. The pen measure from tip to end 6.45 inches, and does need 0.7mm lead for the refill (which is not included).
***Also in order to refill slightly pull up on the bar section where you would have beads and the plastic eraser section will come out.
